Tournament Format

Entries are subject to rejection, or withdrawal, at any time at the discretion of the AGA.

The Championship will be conducted on a stroke play basis for 54 holes, 18 holes daily on April 25-27, 2012. Players will be placed in to flights based on their score after 36 holes.

The Super Senior Division will be conducted on a stroke play basis for 36 holes, 18 holes daily on April 26-27, 2012. Players must have reached age 70 by April 26, 2012 to compete in the Super Senior Division. Players may not compete in both the Senior Division and Super Senior Division.

If, at the close of entries, the Championship is oversubscribed, the Final Field will be determined using a combination of the AGA's Player Points List, previous performances in AGA events, and verified USGA Handicap Index.

In the event of a tie for the Championship flight, there will be a "multi-hole" play-off commencing immediately following play (the holes involved to be determined by the AGA) with the Champion being determined by the lowest total of those holes. If a tie, or ties, still exists, the Champion will then be decided by "sudden death" following the same sequence of holes. After the Champion has been determined, all other ties in all other flights, and a tie for the Super Senior Champion will be resolved by matching scorecards according to the USGA recommendation shown in Appendix I of the 2012-2015 Rules of Golf, How to Decide Ties, page 144(c), except that if the tie still exists, scores for the first 9 holes shall be treated in the same way until a winner is produced. Any remaining ties will be decided by matching scorecards hole-by-hole, beginning at the 18th hole.

Projected Flight Distribution (approximate): Championship Flight: 8 Players; All other flights: 8 Players.

Note regarding flights: There numbers are approximate and could go up or down depending on ties & groupings. Please understand that all flights make up the entire field when using percentages to determine the number of players within each flight.
