Tournament Format

The Championship will be conducted on a stroke play basis for 72 holes, 18 holes daily on June 7-10, 2012.

There will be 156 players at the Championship site to begin play. After 36 holes the field will be reduced to the low 66 scores and ties for the final 36 holes of play.

In the event of a tie for the Championship there will be a "multi-hole" play-off commencing immediately following play (the holes involved to be determined by the AGA) with the Champion being determined by the lowest total of those holes. If a tie, or ties, still exists, the Championship will then be decided by "Sudden Death" following the same sequence of holes. After the Champion has been determined, all other ties not yet settled, including those involving individuals participating in the play-off for the Championship, will be decided by matching scorecards of the final round in accordance with the USGA recommendations shown in Appendix I of the 2012-2015 Rules of Golf, How to Decide Ties, page 144(c), except that if the tie still exists following this procedure, scores for the first 9 holes shall be treated in the same way until a winner is produced. Any remaining ties will be decided by matching cards hole-by-hole, beginning at the 18th hole.
